Report says hygienic and energy-efficient pumps will be popular

The rapid expansion of the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries in Europe is fuelling the demand for hygienic, high-quality positive displacement pumps. Peristaltic pumps are of particular interest to such industries, which produce products for consumption. These pumps minimise contamination and resist corrosion by ensuring that the fluid flows through flexible tubes or hoses that are placed within pump housing. Thus, market participants will do well to focus on the peristaltic pump segment and complement it with strategic after-market services to maintain a strong position in Europe.

Building a new industry from what we do best...

What is the one thing we do better probably than any other country in the world? I suppose building cars would be up there. And our pharmaceuticals and high tech industries are pretty good, too. When I look at some of the activities in plastics and new materials such as graphene, I can see the UK leading the way. Those of a controversial bent might throw banking into the mix. Most recently, many of the biggest movies in the business have been made in the UK.

Monitor Hirschmann switch status with new HiMobile App

Belden Inc. is announcing HiMobile, a new app from its Hirschmann product portfolio. Running on smart phones or tablets, this app improves network availability by allowing users to access status information about switches from almost anywhere. This enables administrators to respond immediately to error messages even without a PC. To avoid typing errors on the smaller keypads used on these devices, IP addresses can also be entered by scanning a QR code affixed to the switches. A further alternative is to select network devices from lists.

WEG and KSB supply motors and pumps to Water-link project in Belgium

The Water-link project in Belgium, delivers nearly 190 million m3 of water to over 700,000 customers annually. As part of the project, a new drinking water pipeline has been laid to water company TMVW in Buggenhout, Belgium.  Critical to the pipeline are six high-efficiency WEG W22 motors which have been integrated into pumps supplied by KSB.
