Siemens launches HT-direct high-performance torque motors

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is introducing a new series of high-performance torque motors for drive applications with high torques or low speeds of rotation. The motors from the HT-direct series are based on permanent-magnet technology and exhibit compactness, ease of installation and maintenance, reduced noise emissions and up to 3 per cent greater efficiency compared to geared alternatives. Moreover, the low-maintenance design of the motors substantially increases availability.

Durable machine frame for hostile environments

Safety sensor resists high pressure washdowns

In cases where high-level hygienic conditions must be met or maintained, contact-free safety sensors often replace the conventional electromechanical safety switches to secure safety guards on machinery and plants. The entirely smooth surfaces of these sensors and their actuators enhance the cleaning operations and avoid dirt deposits. Another advantage is that they are also suitable for concealed mounting behind non-magnetic materials.

Low-cost infrared gas sensors measure TOC in water

Edinburgh Instruments is extending its range of high-performance, low-cost, dual-wavelength OEM gas sensors. Designated the Gascard II Plus range, the new models feature high accuracy with low drift characteristics and are designed to be integrated into analysis systems and equipment used to measure total organic carbon (TOC), indicating the quality of sample water with respect to the concentration of organic pollution. This range provides high-accuracy measurement and detection of sub-1 per cent levels of CO2. They use established and proven pump-aspiration technology to provide rapid detection and response.
