Adlink Technology is releasing its powerful new-generation NEON-1040 x86 smart camera, featuring the quad-core Intel Atom processor E3845 1.9 GHz, 2048 x 2048 pixels @ 60fps, 1inch monochrome CMOS global shutter image sensor, and PWM lighting control support. The quad-core CPU increases computing power, and the FPGA coprocessors and GPU deliver advanced image processing, both said to be beyond the capabilities of conventional smart cameras. Rich software support and API compatibility enable easy migration from original platforms, making it simple for system integrators to fulfil a variety of inspection application needs.

Matrox Imaging is announcing the immediate availability of Design Assistant 4 (DA 4) vision software, which the company claims is the first hardware-independent integrated development environment (IDE) that lets users easily create an application flowchart and HMI and take projects from concept to completion very rapidly, without the need for conventional programming. It not only works with the Matrox Iris GT smart camera but also any PC with GigE Vision or USB3 Vision cameras, including the Matrox 4Sight GPm industrial computer.
