igus is introducing a cost-effective alternative to its standard drylin ZLW linear guides for simple positioning and adjustment task. Available ready to install, the drylin ZLW eco is suitable for applications where a high degree of positioning accuracy and the ability to handle high loads and speeds are not key requirements. A typical application would be in a vending machine for dispensing packaged food or drink bottles.

An outstanding year for the Advanced Engineering show

If you’re working within the advanced manufacturing sector, the chances are you saw for yourself just how busy Advanced Engineering was at the NEC in November. Representatives spanning a huge breadth of engineering and manufacturing applications came together, with the event providing the UK’s largest meeting place for advanced engineers. The event attracted some of the industry’s biggest names including Airbus; Boeing; Jaguar Land Rover; Hexcel; and Dassault Systèmes.

New release CENTUM VP R6.05 Integrated Production Control System

Yokogawa Electric Corporation is releasing the CENTUM VP R6.05, an enhanced version of its flagship integrated production control system. This CENTUM release features a new processor module with a Yokogawa designed microprocessor that employs large-scale integration (LSI). By using this system LSI in place of a commercially available product, Yokogawa eliminates the disruptions that can occur when a product is modified or discontinued. This release also features an improved engineering function that speeds up project execution by achieving savings in configuration and installation time. These enhancements cover the entire control system lifecycle, from installation and start-up to end of service.
