Machinery Safety Alliance seminars - dates and venues for 2013

Following the success of its 2012 machinery safety seminars, the Machinery Safety Alliance is planning to run a further four seminars in 2013, with the participation this time of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), rather than the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL). As in 2012, members of the alliance presenting at the seminars will be Pilz, Festo, Fortress Interlocks, Werma and Troax.

New home for Norgren UK Headquarters

Norgren is to relocate its UK headquarters to a new state-of-the-art facility at Fradley Business Park, near Lichfield in Staffordshire. The new 104,000 sq ft Norgren Engineering Advantage Centre will house manufacturing, research, sales and administrative functions for the company, which designs and manufactures pneumatic and fluid control offerings for rail, commercial vehicle, life sciences, energy, food & beverage and industrial automation applications.

CLPA shares open networks for success at the 2012 EMS Summit

The 8th Annual European Manufacturing Strategies (EMS) Summit has been declared a success by the CLPA, a Platinum Sponsor of the conference. The main aims of this year's summit were on improving productivity and cost effectiveness, identifying future-proof manufacturing strategies and regaining global competitiveness. CLPA's contribution to these aims was to show how CC-Link provides a transparent, open network hierarchy intended to maximise productivity, as well as how the Gateway to China (G2C) programme opens overseas opportunities.

Xylem is challenging the beverage industry to come up with a practical beverage dispense problem for its expert engineers to solve. The initiative, dubbed "Challenge Us" launches at Brau Beviale, where visitors from all over Europe will be able to visit the Xylem stand in the Process Hall and see the company's complete portfolio for the food and beverage industry, including its dispense pumps in action at a working bar.

State-of-the-art dessert and yoghurt production plant uses BÃ¼rkert AirLINE pneumatic solution to bring control closer to the process

Bürkert's stainless steel AirLINE Quick valve island solution has cut installation costs, improved operating integrity and is delivering ongoing economies in the control of up to 2000 pneumatic process components operating on a new dessert and yoghurt line installed by FrieslandCampina at its plant in Gutersloh, in the Westphalia region of Germany. The project, an early application for AirLINE Quick, demonstrates the many operating and cost saving advantages of the new smart system in strict hygienic environments characterised by harsh cleaning elements and water.
