Xylem says "Challenge Us" with dispense problems
Xylem is challenging the beverage industry to come up with a practical beverage dispense problem for its expert engineers to solve. The initiative, dubbed "Challenge Us" launches at Brau Beviale, where visitors from all over Europe will be able to visit the Xylem stand in the Process Hall and see the company's complete portfolio for the food and beverage industry, including its dispense pumps in action at a working bar.
Xylem's Flojet pumps deliver over 4 billion soft drinks every year and 18 million pints of beer every day. Products include pumps for syrup, beer, water, ice cream, smoothies, iced and slush products, hot drinks, carbonation, alcoholic and soft drinks. Xylem's expertise encompasses the whole beverage industry, from processing right through to dispense from kegs, bags or boxes. Years of experience and eight different pump technologies means Xylem understands just how to handle the variables from carbonation, syrup ratio, temperature, etc., through to rate of serve and deliver any beverage in optimum condition. The company is inviting customers to come and discuss its innovations for carbonation, espresso and carbonated water recirculation at Brau Beviale.
Problems for "Challenge Us" have to be a new or existing application which presents a technical challenge. The most exciting will be worked on by Xylem's engineers and product experts at its Innovation Lab in the USA. This facility is where Xylem's new product development engineers turn ideas into action through dynamic teamwork, which encourages creativity. Ideas are turned into prototypes very quickly. The best prototypes are tested and developed further, by other teams of product experts working in facilities such as the one Xylem has in the UK, where a fully working bar puts prototype beverage dispense pumps through their paces under operational conditions.
