FoodManufacturing.Live is the UK's only specialist one-day event dedicated exclusively to food and beverage manufacturing, packaging and processing. It will take place alongside Machine Building Live, an event for machine builders, systems integrators and OEMs looking to automate their processes. The exhibition will bring together international industry leaders, sharing technologies that are designed to reduce costs and improve productivity and profitability.

Appearing at Stand 56 at the show, WEG will showcase its PLC500 programmable logic controller (PLC). The system is developed for medium-sized applications where compact sizing, flexibility and fast integration are highly beneficial. The PLC500 offers object-oriented programming, simulation and debugging tools that streamline development and commissioning. The PLC is equipped with a plug-and-play expansion system that allows seamless scalability and simple integration into factory environments.

Also on display will be the WG20 geared motor range, the first gearbox family developed entirely in-house by WEG. Available in helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel designs, the WG20 range offers a modular configuration for low power losses, long service life and high versatility. Suitable for conveying, packaging and general automation systems, it provides a robust and efficient solution for both new installations and retrofit projects.

"FoodManufacturing.Live is a fantastic platform to connect with industry leaders and to demonstrate how WEG's automation and drive solutions can support manufacturers to meet the growing demands of modern manufacturing," said Marek Lukaszczyk, UK and Middle East Marketing Manager at WEG. "Energy efficiency, reliability and flexible integration are vital in food production - and our solutions are designed to deliver on all fronts."

WEG will also showcase its CFW series of VSDs, designed for precise control of electric motors. The drives enhance operational performance in motors through gradual starting and stopping, which reduces wear and tear and keeps performance steady. With integrated SoftPLC to add functionalities for flexible operation and plug-and-play accessories, the CFW series simplifies programming, monitoring and maintenance while lowering costs.

When paired with WEG's W23 Sync+ motor, the CFW range offers exceptional efficiency - reducing energy losses by up to 40 per cent compared with conventional IE3 motors. Together, they provide reliable and cost-effective operation for a wide range of applications, from automated machinery to food processing systems. Visitors will be able to learn more about both technologies at the event.

WEG has a long track record of helping manufacturers optimise energy use and reliability, It demonstrated the real-world impact of its technology in a project with Drake's Brewing Company in California. By replacing a conventional induction motor with a W23 Sync+ motor and CFW500 drive, the brewery achieved measurable energy and cost reductions over 7,975 annual runtime hours. The project highlighted how high-efficiency motors can deliver meaningful savings for manufacturers.

"WEG is committed to supporting operations across the manufacturing and machine building sectors," added Lukaszczyk. "Our technologies are designed to meet efficiency standards while helping manufacturers boost reliability, cut costs and achieve sustainability targets.

"We also provide tailored technical support, so every part of the industry gets the right solution. By showcasing our latest innovations at Food Manufacturing Live 2025, WEG is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the global manufacturing sector."
