Seminar looks at the future of food safety with contamination detection

Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection announces an exclusive in-person One-Day Seminar at its Global Centre of Excellence in Royston, Hertfordshire on Wednesday 11 June, 2025 to celebrate World Food Safety Day, an initiative from the World Health Organisation.

This will examine the themes around how to 'Unlock the Future of Food Safety', in collaboration with BRCGS.

The One-Day Seminar will provide a look at the inner workings of the Mettler-Toledo Safeline manufacturing facility in Royston, Hertfordshire. Serving as the company's Global Centre of Excellence for contamination detection technology, the facility expanded production by more than 80% when it opened in 2021.

It integrates research and development, manufacturing, logistics, final quality testing, and repair functions. The site provides cutting-edge inline product inspection solutions crafted to meet the ever-evolving demands of food safety and compliance.

The event, reserved for a guestlist of food manufacturers, co-packers, brand owners and high street retailers, will provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the state-of-the-art production facilities.

Attendees can expect a full open-door experience to witness first-hand Mettler-Toledo metal detection and x-ray inspection systems, designed to protect brands through the automatic detection and rejection of non-conforming products, and make it easy to comply with food safety regulations.

The day will include a tour of the Mettler-Toledo production facility to witness the design and manufacture of its product inspection solutions.

In addition, experts will share invaluable knowledge on navigating regulations while maintaining the highest quality and standards in the food sector. And there will be live personalised testing on attendees' products to experience an innovative approach to food safety. Attendees can bring their own products. As this is only available for a limited amount of attendees, companies are advised to reserve their slot.

Mike Pipe, Head of Global Sales and Product Management, Mettler-Toledo, says: "Our One-Day Seminar is a perfect opportunity for industry professionals to come and see first hand how we apply the latest metal detection and x-ray technology applications to food safety standards. We are incredibly proud of our Royston Centre of Excellence, and it is a pleasure to share the insights to how we apply our technology to keeping food safe and sharing our knowledge as part of World Food Safety Day."
