As MachineBuilding.North welcomes a packed audience of engineers, automation specialists and machine builders to Manchester this week, attention is already turning to the next event in the series.
On Wednesday, 8th July 2026, MachineBuilding.South will launch at Sandown Park, bringing the same highly focused machine-building and industrial automation format to the South for the first time.
Building on the success of MachineBuilding.Live and the rapid growth of MachineBuilding.North, the new event has been designed to give engineers and manufacturing professionals direct access to the technologies, suppliers and expertise shaping modern machine design and industrial automation.
A practical event built around solving engineering challenges
MachineBuilding.South brings together more than 130 specialist suppliers covering areas including motion control, robotics, machine safety, industrial networking, drives, sensing and systems integration.
The aim is simple: to make it easier for engineers to compare technologies, explore different approaches and speak directly with specialists who understand the realities of machine-building projects.
Rather than spending weeks researching suppliers individually, visitors can explore a broad range of solutions in a single day.
Expanded workshops and hands-on learning
Alongside the exhibition, the event will feature an expanded programme of technical workshops and hands-on learning sessions focused on the practical challenges facing machine builders today. Topics in the workshop theatre include:
New for 2026 is a series of hands-on IO-Link training sessions, following overwhelming demand at MachineBuilding.North, where places filled quickly after launch.
Delivered by Tim Beech, Managing Director of TGN Project Services, the sessions provide a practical introduction to IO-Link integration and device parameterisation using live training rigs. Delegates will learn how to:
The sessions are designed to provide practical knowledge that engineers can apply immediately within machine-building and automation projects.
A growing national platform for machine builders
Over the last two decades, MachineBuilding.net has become a central platform for the UK machine-building community.
The launch of MachineBuilding.South reflects the continued growth of that community, and increasing demand for focused, practical events where engineers can learn, compare solutions and connect directly with industry specialists.
MachineBuilding.South takes place on Wednesday, 8th July 2026 at Sandown Park, Surrey.
Free to attend for manufacturing professionals, the event includes free parking, complimentary breakfast for early arrivals and full access to the exhibition, workshops and training sessions.
