Industry leading sensors on show at FoodManufacturing.Live

The upcoming FoodManufacturing.Live event in October, which also includes MachineBuilding.Live, provides the ideal platform for sensor specialist Baumer to promote its ever-expanding range of industry leading sensors and encoders.

Measuring conductivity in smaller sized food and beverage production facilities demands the most compact, yet robust sensors and the PAC50 process sensor meets these requirements. Customers really appreciate its ability to deliver high precision measured values and very short response times in an ultra-compact design measuring a mere 60mm and a display of only 32 x 25mm.

Minimum size is matched by maximum robustness, offering high temperature stability up to 140degC which allows for permanent and reliable use in food, SIP and CIP systems. Easy and standardised operation throughout the entire 50 Series ensures fast sensor commissioning and operation.

The ability to open-up new potential in drive technology and factory automation applications with LowHarmonics encoder technology is possible thanks to Baumer's EB260, a compact yet robust programmable incremental magnetic ring encoder. This bearing less encoder features revolutionary signal processing in addition to flexible shaft diameters, housed in a compact, 11mm installation depth package, merging the precision of optical sensing with the durability and cost-efficiency of magnetic systems.

LowHarmonics signal processing with auto-calibration eliminates signal errors due to installation, temperature, ageing and mechanical factors to ensure maximum precision and control performance.

Even the slightest change by damage to machine mechanics is monitored and reported to the higher-level system.

When the sensing and monitoring applications become more challenging, Baumer's HOG Series of heavy-duty encoders represent the perfect choice for industrial applications, such as Aggregates, Steel, Materials Handling, Ports, Cranes and Paper Mills. They represent the perfect choice for monitoring applications which include asynchronous motors. These uncompromisingly robust encoders are part of the incremental heavy duty HOG800 series which includes three options. The HOG840 cost-effective option ideally suited to wind turbines and machinery, the HOG860 designed for more challenging applications featuring asynchronous drives and the HOG870, developed as a heavy-duty encoder with redundant sensing and evaluation.

The key features of these robust encoders include enhanced protection against corrosion, shaft currents, overvoltage, and mechanical stress. Additionally, Baumer has adopted the 'smart' functions of its broader industrial encoder products into these heavy-duty options. For example, intelligent parameterisation of resolution, output level and rotation direction. New functions to monitor sensor status, temperature and operating time are also available.
