Fail-safe inductive sensors for the food industry

ifm introduces its new robust fail-safe inductive sensors, engineered for the food and beverage industry. The company says these all-metal sensors establish a new standard for safety and reliability in extreme conditions.

Fail-safe inductive sensors for the food industry

ifm adds that it is the first and only supplier to offer fail-safe inductive sensors in a durable full-metal design, ensuring maximum safety even in environments with constant moisture or temperatures ranging from -25degC to 100degC. These features make them ideal for critical applications in the food and beverage sector.

Our full-metal inductive sensors are perfect for various safety-critical uses. For example, they can be installed on service lids and manways to prevent processes from starting until lids are securely closed, protecting both personnel and machinery. They are also well suitable for valves and valve manifolds, withstanding frequent cleaning cycles and continuous moisture exposure. Additionally, they ensure reliable operation of cold storage high-speed doors, even in low temperatures.

Designed for the harshest conditions, these sensors feature a stainless-steel sleeve that offers exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures, intensive cleaning, and challenging industrial environments. TUV certified to SIL 2/PLd, they provide superior safety and reliability for the most demanding applications.
