New Chairman for UKIVA

Paul Wilson, Managing Director of Scorpion Vision Ltd, has become the new Chairman of the UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA), taking over the reins from Ian Alderton. Wilson took up his new position at the recent UKIVA Annual Members' meeting held at Arena MK.

Harting Technology Group remains on clear path for growth

Harting Technology group remains on a clear path for growth: sales during the recently ended 2015/16 fiscal year (September 30) rose by 34 per cent to EUR586 million (previous year: EUR567 million). Excluding negative currency effects, growth would have amounted to 3.9 per cent. That said, total sales nevertheless reached a new record high. Growth at the company is thus in line with the cautious forecast made by Harting Board Chairman Philip Harting at the last annual press conference, held in December 2015.

Rockwell Automation Recognised System Integrators are proven, trusted and established companies that offer demonstrated knowledge and experience in design, implementation, project management and maintenance of industrial control systems. There are currently just 24 companies in the UK who have met the requirements to become Recognised System Integrators.

Comau signs agreement for predictive maintenance systems

Engineering Ingegneria Informatica and Comau have signed a global cooperation agreement. The companies will join forces to pursue the development and marketing of products for predictive maintenance, that are based on modular hardware and software and designed to acquire and analyse field data (Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics). These products are targeted at the manufacturing industry and in particular, companies operating in the automotive, industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and white goods sectors, according to the Industry 4.0 paradigm.
