igus has released a short video that highlights the benefits of its FDA and EU 10/2011-approved bearings for use in the food and beverage industry. The policy for food hygiene is clearly defined by the standards of the US and European regulators. At igus, the "˜food grade' products are produced in blue, and are therefore easy to identify.

Emerson buys General Electric's Intelligent Platforms business

Emerson has agreed to acquire Intelligent Platforms, a division of General Electric. Intelligent Platforms' programmable logic controller (PLC) technologies will enable Emerson, a leader in automation for process and industrial applications, to provide its customers broader control and management of their operations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burkert to exhibit hygienic products at EHEDG Conference 2018

Professionals operating in hygienic sectors will be able to meet with Burkert at this year's European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) Conference in London from the 21-22 November, with the business demonstrating EHEDG-approved products for food and beverage applications. The bi-annual exhibition will be held at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London's Docklands, where Burkert, Gold Sponsors for the event, will be found in the Platinum Suite on Stand P9 throughout the show along with 800 other exhibitors.
